At around three o’clock in the morning, my grandpa Amos goes along with his gastronomic tales. Uncle John has had us pose for pictures countless times –such was his desire to capture this unique family reunion– Three of my conspicuous cousins wear their black ties in lieu of hats, whilst they cling on to Tanqueray tonics. My dad won’t stop delivering his repertoire of awful jokes.
So I put my drink and cough for a sec to draw some attention. Feeling a little tipsy and struggling to remain on my feet, I finally break the news. A choir of applause and laughter follows. Only my grandma, her body resting in a mahogany coffin, keeps her composure.
